Terms & Conditions

  1. Company Details

      Ko-Hsin Huang, Trading as Cathy’s Cake Corner

 

   2.Payment terms:

      A deposit is always required to secure a cake order or to book a party as follows:

     a) Cake orders (Including wedding cakes): 50% non-refundable deposit at time of order.               Balance to be paid before collection for all occasion cakes. Balance for wedding cakes to

         be paid 4 weeks before the event.

    b)Parties: 50% non-refundable deposit at time of booking. Balance due 2 weeks before the           event.

 

   3.Hire of products:

   A £25.00 refundable deposit is required for any items hired. The item(s) must be returned         within 7 days for a full refund. No refund will be given for items returned after 7 days or             items not returned.

 

  4. Collection:

   a) A time and date for collection will be agreed with the customer in writing.

   b) Once the cake has been collected and removed from our premises the risk of 

       damage passes to the customer.

  c)Insurance is strongly advised for expensive orders.

 

  5.Cancellation rights and refunds:

  a) For cake orders, the deposit is forfeited if an order is cancelled, unless written notice of             cancellation is received 4 weeks before the event for standard cake orders or 12 weeks               before the event for wedding cake orders.

  b)For parties, the deposit is forfeited unless written notice of cancellation is received 2                 weeks prior to the event.

 

  6. Best before dates and allergy information

    a)The best before date is 1 week from the collection date.

    b)We cannot guarantee a nut free environment when making our cakes.

 

  7.Force Majeure

  A party shall not be deemed in default of this agreement, nor shall it hold the other party          responsible for any cessation, interruption or delay in the performance of its obligations     (excluding payment obligations) due to earthquake, fire, storm, snow, natural disaster, act of    god, war, terrorism, armed conflict, lockout, boycott or other similar events beyond the            reasonable control of the party, provided the party relying on this provision:

 

  • Gives prompt written notice thereof, and

  • Takes all reasonable steps to mitigate the effect of the force majeure event.

  • If a force majeure event extends for a period in excess of 30 days in aggregate, either party may immediately terminate this agreement upon written notice.

 

  8. Non-edible decorations

  Certain decorations are non-edible. The specific non-edible decorations will be pointed out    at the time of collection.

 

  Examples of non-edible decorations include but are not limited to:

   a)Sugar flowers

   b)Human or animal figures

   c)Other decorative features

 

 9.Privacy policy

  Cathy’s cake corner is committed to protecting personal data. We will only collect data for   the specific purpose of providing the goods or services requested. Any financial data is not   retained or recorded. We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third   parties at any time.

 

 10.Copyright

  All cake designs and logos are copyright of Cathy’s Cake Corner and cannot be reproduced   without our express written permission.

 

 11.Limit of liability

  Our liability under this agreement is strictly limited to the cost of the cake or the party. We        cannot be held liable for any losses beyond this.

 12.Refund Policy

  It is always our aim to provide a brilliant cake that you will love. Should you have any issues   with the cake please contact me within 24 hours (or earlier if possible) and the following   procedure will apply:

 

  a)The cake must be returned to the collection address within 24 hours of it being taken.

  b)We will arrange a face to face meeting to discuss the issues with the cake and agree a               mutually acceptable solution. This may result in a refund. However, please note the                  following:

 

  • No refunds will be given once the cake has been taken unless the above procedure is followed.

 

  • No refunds will be given for issues that are raised by email or telephone call until the above procedure is followed.
